Virginia Lore Writing Services
After graduating from The Evergreen State College "with a BA in Everything," Virginia Lore took her first job in journalism in Raymond, Washington at the Willapa Harbor Herald. She did the courthouse beat, and reported on two city councils and three schoolboards. She also wrote a weekly humor column and multiple features. Then she moved to Seattle, where she balanced freelance writing with raising two children, and a day job at the University of Washington.
After leaving the UW, Virginia focused on tutoring teenagers with reading and writing challenges. and teaching English as Another Language. The pandemic brought her back home to Kansas City, where she continues to write.
Her poetry, essays, and short stories have appeared in Mind's Eye, Point No Point, The Looking Glass, Lines from the Middle of Nowhere, Kansas City Voices, Communities magazine, The Cohousing Journal. Her stories also appear in Sacred Waters by Maril Crabtree, and Nothing But Red by Skyla Dawn Cameron.
